Mariaan du Plooy is a South African Artist and illustrator who loves to capture the beauty of her country and people, whether it be through urban scenes, landscapes or still lifes.
She received her formal art training in 2012 from Leonie E. Brown in Cape Town, where she spent six years learning the basics under Leonie's guidance. In 2020, she continued her art education under the guidance of John Smith in KwaZulu Natal.
She received the “Best Oil Award” for her painting “Into the City” in 2019 at the 113th Sasa Annual Group Exhibition in Kirstenbosch.
Her main inspiration comes from coffee dates with her husband creating memories as they go. She paints mainly in oils and dabbles in water colours and digital art.
